Thomas Kohn, MD, FRCP, FAAD

 

Dr. Thomas Kohn is a dermatologist and the founder of CTC International, established in Montreal in 1981.

Born in Hungary and raised in Montreal, Dr. Kohn completed his Bachelor of Science at McGill University and pursued pre-medical studies in Toulouse, France, before earning his medical degree from the University of Calgary.

He completed his dermatology training in Quebec City and at the University of Iowa, followed by further training in dermatologic surgery, including Mohs micrographic surgery, hair transplantation and laser surgery, at centres in New York, Miami, Paris, Minneapolis, Toronto, Madison, Wisconsin, and Cincinnati, Ohio.

Throughout his career, Dr. Kohn has combined clinical practice with teaching and professional education. His principal areas of practice include medical dermatology, Mohs surgery, hair transplantation and cosmetic dermatology.

Mohs Micrographic Surgery

Specialized Treatment for Selected Skin Cancers

Dr. Kohn has extensive experience in dermatologic surgery, including Mohs micrographic surgery for the treatment of selected skin cancers.

Mohs surgery removes the cancerous tissue in stages while examining the margins microscopically during the procedure. This technique allows the surgeon to remove the skin cancer while preserving as much healthy surrounding tissue as possible.

Patients requiring Mohs surgery must have an appropriate physician referral and/or pathology report. Once the necessary information has been received and reviewed, our clinic will contact the patient directly regarding scheduling.

Hair Transplantation & Hair Restoration

An Individualized Approach to Hair Loss

Hair transplantation and hair restoration have been important areas of Dr. Kohn’s practice and advanced training throughout his career.

Patients experiencing hair loss can be evaluated to determine the nature and pattern of their hair loss and discuss appropriate treatment or hair restoration options.

When hair transplantation is appropriate, the treatment plan is individualized according to the patient’s hair-loss pattern, available donor hair, expectations and overall goals.

Cosmetic Dermatology

Dr. Kohn also provides cosmetic dermatology treatments with an emphasis on individualized treatment and natural-looking results.

Treatments may include Botox®, dermal fillers, sclerotherapy for spider veins and other cosmetic skin treatments, depending on the patient’s individual concerns and goals.
